More on thought forms

In response to a comment from Monica where she asks if thought forms once created may change, my experience this does not happen.  I perceive them as having the originator’s intent and thoughts imprinted upon them like a kind of programming which just keeps running, until either the originator or someone perceptive and powerful enough dissolves it.

If we have hurt someone by sending  negative energy to them we can heal the effects by seeking mutual forgiveness, sending light and love for healing.  We can even call back the energy we sent and consciously undo the programming we created.

It is rather humbling to know that we can at times unwittingly hurt others with just our thoughts.  I think the bottom line is to be aware of our intent, do we really and truly want to exact revenge or hurt someone?  Or are we just letting off steam.   In terms of our own path, when we are truly contrite (sorry) and we know we won’t repeat a misdeed.  In fact many people demonstrate their contrition by expressing compassion towards those they have hurt.  Remember that the Divine forgives us, but we also need to forgive ourselves in order to move forward and be a better person in the future.

Motivated self interest - saving the planet.

I have been thinking about Karma and the way we experience the results of our actions at some time in our future.  I personally believe in reincarnation, big surprise, and linking that to the environment.

We hear a great deal about saving the planet for future generations.  Save the planet for the sake of our children and grandchildren.  I totally agree with the sentiments.   But if we accept the fact (concept if you wish) of reincarnation then I think it would be wise to be aware that we are also caring for and saving the planet for ourselves in our future incarnations too.

Just imagine. We incarnate in one hundred years time, many species are extinct, the climate has changed the environment is wrecked or maybe there has been nuclear war and areas of the planet are wasteland.  Who do we blame?  Our ancestors of course, the ones that were so selfish and careless as to let it all happen.   Oh yes, that would be us wouldn’t it?  Ouch!

So the question I am asking myself is this,
“Assuming there are future generations of children and grandchildren to continue the human race, what kind of world do I want to incarnate into in my future life? “

I am currently feeling some powerful motivated self interest to do the best I can here and now to ensure that there is a beautiful world for mine and everyone else’s future.  How about you?

Karma

Karma, that wonderful law of cause and effect, action and reaction, as you give so shall you receive.

This is not just about doing charitable works. It has to do with how we think and act in everyday life. Our thoughts have real energy and power. When expressed as words and actions they have great impact upon other people and situations.

Esoteric writings tell us that thoughts are real, they have energy. When we feel intensely and focus our energy and intent via our thoughts towards another person we are sending them that energy. The energy, programmed by our intent, creates what is called a thought form which goes to the other person and puts into effect our intent. When the thought form reaches the other person they are affected by it – if our intent is good then they will feel good, if our intent is bad they will feel bad.

Maybe we could avoid much pain to ourselves and others if we considered this in the light of the law of cause and effect – “As we give so do we receive.” I think I will work on creating positive, loving thought forms, the kind I would like to receive….

Many people view Karma as punishment, it is not. Instead I see it is an impartial universal law letting us know that what we are doing is out of harmony with universal law. The more we avoid or resist returning to universal law, the harder the lessons become. If we keep sending out negative energy it will in due course rebound upon us. We can learn the lesson and stop creating it in the first place.
